Crossing Time Book Review
Free from her ex-husband, David, Isabel falls all over again for the one man she knew truly cared for her, Diego. It’s as if she has another chance. That is, until a tungsten sphere from an alternate timeline crash lands into the middle of a city, and a horrific event plunges the entire world into chaos and dystopia.
In Crossing Time, readers will dive into a dystopian world of catastrophic worldwide events and follow multiple characters. Isabel and Diego will give readers an outside glance at the world as it falls apart. Meanwhile, Matt and a team of scientists and government officials will show the inner workings of trying to counteract the devastating events with clues within the tungsten sphere.
The two storylines also serve to balance one another through the charged emotions within them. Isabel and Diego's storyline is filled with second-chance romance and grief. Whereas the scientists' storyline contains pockets of apprehension and the desperate hope for a way to heal the world. Moving between the two, DL Orton ensured one would feed off the other and create an intricate web sure to snare readers.
Not to mention the path to alternate timelines will provide quite the interesting twist, especially if readers have also enjoyed Hive by DL Orton. There will be eerily similar scenes with slightly different outcomes and character reactions, layering in how alternate universes and timelines divulge. Gradually, as the story continues the differences grow as the characters take different paths. Having read Hive, I cannot wait to see how this timeline continues to evolve over the future novels.
