Other than reading, what else do you enjoy doing?
I love web designing and tinkering around with my site to find new ways to display information. I also happen to web design for fantasy author Alexzander Christion, which allows me to explore new avenues of design as we have vastly different layouts! When I'm not designing or reading, I also sneak in video games. Lately I've been finishing the DLC to Kingdom Hearts 3 and playing the Monster Hunter Ice World expansion.
What is your least favorite genre and why?
My least favorite genre would have to be romance. Now don't get me wrong, I'm fine with reading about romance in books, but I'm not one for sex scenes or instant love affairs. There may be some great romance books out there that don't contain these troupes, but I wouldn't know where to start.
What genre have you come to appreciate more?
That would have to be non fiction. I used to assume non fiction would be dry and boring like my college textbooks, but then I started dabbling in it. I've found that I enjoy reading non fiction as long as it has a creative spin to it. Stiff by Mary Roach and H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald are great examples.
If you had the chance for a do-over, what would you change?
I honestly believe everything happens for a reason. Looking over all the events of my life, big and small, I know that collectively they have put me where I am today. I don't think I would change anything. Why you ask? Because even if I'm not quite where I want to be yet, I am moving forward and have the tools to do it because of my past. I know I'll reach my goals, even if it takes me a little more time.
Which authors do you follow religiously?
There are only two authors that I follow and they are Kim Harrison and Mark Lawrence. They are my top two favorite authors of all time. I love their world settings and characters.
What is the most difficult part of blogging?
Being only able to blog part time and managing my schedule to post consistently. I'm still pretty new to the blogging world and am learning more and more every day what works and doesn't work for me. I mainly post book reviews, but I am slowly accumulating other content. I just need to learn how to shift my schedule to allow more time to write since I don't want to slow down on the amount of reviews I crank out. I stick by my motto of reviewing every single book I read now.
How many books are on your current reading list?
I currently have fours books on my list which seems to be the norm for me. They are:
What is your favorite comfort food?
I hate to say it but anything that is unhealthy. I follow Weight Watchers, but there are days when I feel like garbage emotionally and all I want is junk food. I generally spring for chips and pizza, but I'll take a fast food burger too.
Which book did you dislike the most but had to read it for school?
This list could be a mile long because it isn't just one, but literally all but one that I hated reading in school. And I include both high school and college in this opinion. So let's just say that Catcher in the Rye is the only book I enjoyed reading in school.
